Environment, ecology and green key

As the world around us develops, and focus on environment and ecology grows to be more important, we include this perspective in our policy.

The actual electric consumption has from 2010 to 2011 been reduced with 1.55%, despite a sales increase of 7%. The total electric consumption has been reduced with 10% in the period 2007-2011.

Despite the cold winter in 2011 and the sales increase, the all over consumption of district heating has been reduced from 1.472.46 mwh in 2010 to 1.312.00 mwh in 2011.

It has further been possible to reduce the water consumption per guest from 0.31 m3 in 2010 to 0.29 m3 in 2011. This means a reduction of 6.4%.

By the end of 2011, the ecological part of all raw products used was 5.3%.

Hotel Koldingfjord has further been awarded the internal eco label of the hotel industry, "Den Grønne Nøgle / Green Key", meaning that Hotel Koldfingfjord complies with a number of actual environmental requirements. The eco label is valid for 1 year at a time and Hotel Koldingfjord obliges to uphold a number of points, hereunder in terms of waste sorting, minimisation of heat and power consumption, correct dosage of cleaning agents, turning off lights in rooms not used … It is all over about THINKING green and eco-friendly.

To you as a guest, this means that we have small flyers in the room, offering you the possibility of ”re-using” disposable articles and towels. You will further find the flyer "Green Key" in the room folder, informing you about the importance of thinking about and considering the environment.

We have initiated waste sorting for employees at Hotel Koldingfjord of: paper, plastics, metal, and batteries, cardboard and combustible waste. All departments at Hotel Koldingfjord have received instructions in what can be done, in order to ”think green”, and they have further posters in all departments, making it easier to overview the measures.
