Madsby Play Park – A free, outdoor play mecca in the middle of Denmark!

Madsby Play Park is a huge outdoor playland in Fredericia filled with experiences for the whole family. With over 400.000 guests annually, the play park is the area's largest tourist attraction for families with children, and it's easy to see why! The play park has been voted "Denmark's Funniest Playground" by GoLittle and has received an "Excellent Play" certificate. Whether you're going on a full-day excursion or just need a few hours of respite, Madsby Play Park is the ideal choice!

What can you experience at Madsby Play Park?

Are you looking for the best? playgrounds in Fredericia? In Madsby Play Park you will find playgrounds and activities for all ages. Have fun on the large sand playground with swings, slides and climbing frames, or visit the new Klods-Hans playground, especially good for the little ones and 100% handicap and wheelchair friendly. If you are more into speed, you can try the mooncar track or the large climbing facility measuring 23x23 meters with space for 225 children. The older ones can challenge each other on the Tarzan track. Here you are guaranteed to have a good laugh along the way!

You will also find a cozy mini zoo with Swedish mini pigs, goats, rabbits, birds and much more, where you can get up close to the animals. Also try the play park's 18-hole mini golf course or take a row on the large lake in one of the park's rowing boats, there really is something for everyone!

Mini golf costs 50 DKK per person (free for children under 3 years old), and a rowing trip costs 50 DKK per boat. Tickets are purchased at the ticket office in the middle of the park.

Take the Madsby Train, visit the Historical Mini-City and try the Detective Treasure Hunt.

Hop on board the Madsbytoget and experience the rest of Madsbyparken! Along the way, you can get off at The Historic Miniby, a fascinating miniature version of Fredericia in 1849 in a ratio of 1:10. A ticket costs 35 DKK for adults and 25 DKK for children between 4-11 years, and admission to the Minibyen is included in the price.

Practical information about Madsby Play Park

• Free admission and opening hours: Madsby Play Park has free admission and is open all year round. During the season from April to week 42, the paid activities are open 10-16 on weekdays and 10-18 on weekends. Find more info about opening hours here!
• Parking: Parking costs 12 DKK/hour between 9 am and 17 pm, and is located close to public transport, the park is only 100 meters from Fredericia Train Station.
• Food and drinks: If you get hungry along the way, you can visit the Madsby kiosk with fast food, sandwiches, drinks and ice cream – or bring your own food basket. Around the park you will find tables, benches and packed lunch houses, so you can always find a good place to settle down.
• Toilet and changing area: There are toilet facilities with changing facilities in the park. 
• Handicap friendly: Madsby Play Park is disabled-friendly with disabled toilets, tiled paths on the park's hills and space for non-electric wheelchairs on the Madsby train.
• Dog: It is allowed to have a dog with you in Madsby Play Park. Dogs must be kept on a leash and must not stay in the park's sandboxes.

Hold a birthday or family party in Madsby Play Park

In Madsby Play Park you can easily hold your next one event. The park has 4 packed lunch houses of different sizes, of which 3 of the houses can be rented for private events. Find more information about the various houses' facilities and booking here!
It is also possible to play a barbecue if you have to hold an event with eating. A grill can have a capacity of 20-25 adults per hour. The price is DKK 105 per hour per grill, and a grill can be rented for a maximum of 2 hours. Read more about renting a grill here!

Madsby Play Park is part of the whole Madsbyparken, which also houses The Historic Miniby og Fredericia Sports Centre og Fredericia Swimming Hall and Water Park.
