Marielundssøen/forest - Beautiful forest in Kolding City Center

Experience Kolding's forest near the city, which has an extremely rich wildlife and varied vegetation with dense spruce forest, tall beech trees, a swamp with beautiful trees, and rare plants and mushrooms.

Marielundskoven is Kolding's urban forest, which was established in the early 1850s. In the middle of the forest lies the idyllic area by Marielundsøen, which has a long tradition as an excursion destination for Kolding's citizens.

Marielundskoven has a rich wildlife and varied vegetation with dense spruce forest, tall beech trees, a swamp with ash and alder trees, as well as rare plants and mushrooms. On the slope along the east side of Marielundssøen there is an area with old beech trees from around 1860. 

In the old pleasure forest there are several marked walks where you can enjoy the beautiful nature on foot, by bike or on horseback.
