Leif Sylvester adorns Hotel Koldingfjord
The Danish painter Leif Sylvester Petersen (1940 - ) is Hotel Koldingfjord's house artist.
All guests at Hotel Koldingfjord know Leif Sylvester Petersen's artwork, where you will encounter his whimsical creatures everywhere in the hotel.
The large work "Welcome" spreads its hands at the hotel reception and greets you warmly.
On the walls of the house there are both brightly colored paintings and small, happy figures that light up.
And then there is Leif Sylvester's main work at Hotel Koldingfjord. The series "Change" consists of a total of 132 works - one image in each of the hotel's rooms.
The artworks in the rooms were created by Leif Sylvester in the period from 2016 to 2022.
"Change"
The image series is called "Change" and was created based on one of Leif Sylvester's colorful posters, which he has continued to work on.
The basis for all the works is the same poster. But all the works have become different through the process.
He is also the artist behind a series of decorative pillows, which are also found in some rooms and can also be purchased at reception.

The Great Sylvester
On April 18, 2025, artist, author, comedian, musician and composer Leif Sylvester Petersen turned 85.
On this occasion, the book Den Store Sylvester – a tour de force through Leif Sylvester's works from 1993 to 2024 was published.
